The San Francisco 49ers drafted Florida wide receiver Ricky Pearsall with the 31st overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Before transferring to Florida, Pearsall played college football at Arizona State.

Last year, the 49ers finished their season with an impressive 12-5 record. The 49ers subsequently made it to the Super Bowl, but lost the big game once again. During this offseason, there has been a lot of speculation about the 49ers potentially trading away either wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk or wide receiver Deebo Samuels.

Aiyuk is entering the final year of his rookie contract and the contract dispute has reached public levels. Many speculated that a draft-day trade could happen for Aiyuk, but that time has come and gone without a trade. The drafting of Pearsall certainly signals that changes may be coming to the 49ers' wide receiver room.
