The Raiders entered the 2024 NFL Draft in desperate need of a quarterback, but after missing out on the top quarterbacks in this year's draft it became clear they would be utilizing a "best player available" strategy. To this end, the Raiders drafted the best tight end in the draft being Georgia tight end Brock Bowers and then followed up that pick by drafting the best center in the draft being Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson.
The Raiders additionally added to their offensive line by drafting Maryland offensive tackle Delmar Glaze. The Raiders then spent additional draft capital on their secondary by drafting Mississippi State defensive back Decamerion Richardson, Air Force safety Trey Taylor, and Pittsburgh cornerback M.J. Devonshire. The Raiders will enter the 2024 season with a big hole at the quarterback position likely positioning themselves for a top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
