Dallas Cowboys Draft OT Tyler Guyton with the 29th Pick of the 2024 NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton with the 29th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Guyton has incredible measurables standing at 6'8 with elite athleticism. He likely needs an extra year refining his technique, but after that he should prove to be a reliable offensive tackle for years to come. Before transferring to Oklahoma, Guyton played college football at TCU.

Last year, the Cowboys finished their season with a 12-5 record followed by a disappointing playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers. Following the loss, there was widespread speculation that head coach Mike McCarthy would be fired, but he was eventually retained without an extension and with only one year left on his current contract. As such, McCarthy goes into the 2024 season as a "lame duck" head coach.

During the offseason, the Cowboys have stayed relatively inactive drawing criticism from their fanbase and NFL analysts alike. The Cowboys now hope that Guyton can develop sooner rather than later in hopes of positively influencing their 2024 season. The Cowboys needed to improve their offensive line play from last season and Guyton may be a solution to their impending needs.
