In the first round, the Buccaneers focused on protecting quarterback Baker Mayfield by drafting Duke center Graham Barton who can play all five offensive line positions. On the offensive side of the ball, the Buccaneers also drafted Michigan wide receiver Jalen McMillan, Oregon running back Bucky Irving, UTEP guard Elijah Klein, and Washington tight end Devin Culp. On the defensive side of the ball, the Buccaneers drafted Alabama edge Chris Braswell and Georgia safety Tykee Smith. As the Buccaneers enter the 2024 season, they will look to further build on their success from last season.
